Default Warrior Help

i put more packing my e-series because the first roll wasn't enough. now it has the right amount. but it seems that i am running lean? if i turn my air/fuel mixture screw passed 3 turns out it starts to run better. if i go under 4 turns out it will die. so i'm thinking i need to up my pilot jet. i have a 42.5 pilot which is stock. i also have the next size up which is a 45 pilot. my question is should i put the 45 pilot in and see if that fixes it?

if that's not it does anybody know what it could be?

last time i didn't have enough packing in it and at that time it was rich. now that it has more packing it is lean. also i dunno if i should do anything with the needle clip or not. it's in the middle position.

I would think that you could adjust the clip postion and fix your lean condition. I don't know if you would have to go up or down on the clip, but i think you would go down clip spot to enrichen the mix. All of this is speculation though. If you already have the jet you might as well try it. If not i would try adjusting the clip position. You can't find a sweet spot on the air fuel mixture to make it run right, or you just don't want to run it that far out?

iwas thinking about the clip it's in the middle position now so i'll the 45 pilot first and if that doesn't work then i'll try moving my clip down 1. hopefully something works...... i also wasn't sure if the neddle had anything to do with the pilot circut? but i'll try it and see what happens. thanx

It helps if you tell us what it is running like rather than just running bad

i can't really say because i haven't really had the time to ride it around or the space. i'm just trying to get it to idle right and then i figured i could go from there.

it starts up fine with the choke on and off but when i give it gas and then let off it pops and backfires alot. but the more i turn the fuel screw out it stops and runs way better. that's at about 4-5 turns out which i know means i need to up my pilot jet but i'm not sure if i need to do anything with the needle clip? i don't think the needle clip will do anything at idle because the needle only conrols 3/4 - 1/4 throttle if i'm correct.

Just adding packing shouldn't effect your jetting that much. I'd check the carb boots for leaks. Did it sit long? Maybe the jet is just gummed up.
