hi, i have a 2001 Yamaha 350 warrior.
its been used and im having trouble starting it.
i just bought a new battary that works fine
it might have water in the gas tank some people have been telling me that.
the other day we chained it to my friends trx450 and pull started it going down the road. but it would just start. when i pushed the gas it wouldnt give it gas and if i slowed down it would stall.
maybe it dont have enough oil. but i think the main problem is the small hole in the carb boot... the rubber piece going from the carburetor to the motor.
can anyone help me?
should i clean everything out of the gas tank and refill it with new gas and put new oil in it?

is it turning the engine over? if not, then take a screwdriver and bridge the positive and negative sides of the silinoid(idk how to spell that), and if it turns over then then either your starter button is bad, or your silinoid is. As for draining the gas, just take a pump and pump it out of the tank, dissconnect the gas hose from the carb and run the gas in there, or take the four bolts out holding the gas tank on and dump it out. You can run the gas out of your carb, once you put good gas in the tank, or take the carb off and spray carb cleaner in it(probly eon't get it ALL out), or you cna take the float off the carb and empty it.

Its easy enough to replace...look one up somewhere on line, I usually use rocky mountain atv. As for draining the gas, just pull the fuel line off of the petcock and drain it into a fuel can....use a funnel to get it there. If it has been stored outside, there is a chance the stator side of the engine has water in it. You'll need to pull the cover and take a look in there. Super easy to do, but always a suspect place to check when you have the above mentioned problems. Good luck!

I got a new carb boot for $15 off of ebay as for the silinoids, I'll take some pics of how you bridge it tomorrow(to cold right now), I had to post some pics of it before, but lost them. here is a pic I took yesrterday, and you can see the silinoid in it. it the thing with the big red wire coming off of it, and a black one on the other side. see the terminals(studs, or bolts whatever you want to call it) that red and black wire bolt on to? take a screwdriver and put the metal part on both of those. And when the motor makes a sound it means it turning over, not clicking, or the sound it makes (back when it worked) when it made a sound before it started
If that doesn't make sense let me know(I'm tired, and not typing the best.lol) Hope I helped
