Use Synthetic, regular oil cant compare. Just use one that made for wet clutches which has no friction modifers. Dont listen to these guys.Go to this site and read what Deez says.

LOL except for price old dinosaur oil has no advantage over FULLsynthetic,it breaks down less and handles higher temp ranges than cheap oil.
Goggle "Petroleum oil vs Synthetic" Like this link and hundreds more and they have nothing good to say about cheap regular oil.Conventional oil vs sythetic, not even a contest.
PS, do not buy "synthetic blends" they are a rip off and contain only 10-20% synthetic oil at most. Get "full" synthetic or don't bother.

Hey guys. listen to pro rider, he is 100 % correct!! Full sync. is the ONLY way to go. IMO, AMSOIL 100 % pure sync 0-40w is the BEST oil going today. It will handle hotter summers and colder winters. No need to change back and forth from 5-40w OR 20-50w (includes yama 5/10-30 w too). I use Amsoil in my tundra 4wd my 700se grizz, and my lawn tractor as well. Just my pennies for a thought. Ride safe and have FUNNNNNN!!

Walmart has Mobil 1 10W-40 for motorcyles. Has the seal stating it is good for wet clutches. Anyone tried this yet?</end quote></div>
Many people use it. Not sure why a person with a belt drive ATV would even care if its good for wet clutch or not.

Its simple. The Yamaha uses a non slipping belt. The clutch shives never release the belt to slip like a Polaris or snowmobile. The primary clutch is attached to a wet clutch just as any automatic clutch Honda. It just turns the clutch instead of a gear box. This is why you don't see people on Yamahas complaining about burnt belts like Polaris and Can-am riders. Cat and Kaw or Suz have copied the Yamaha system.
