Default reverse problem on 07 wolverine

today my friend and I were just riding around just doin the normal stuff we do when i noticed as i put it in reverse and i started to back it up, it would bog down and start to sputter like it was running on fumes of gas. but when i put in in drive it was fine and ran good but everytime i was backing up it would sputter and bog down. Does anyone know why this is happening? How can i fix it?

sounds like you are maxing out the rev limiter.

Does it do this even if you back up slow?? There is a rev limiter that will only come on in reverse so you don't back up to fast and lose control. When it comes on it will run just like you have described. If this is a new thing it started doing maybe you got a sensor wet and it's giving a wrong rpm reading so the rev limiter is activating while in reverse before it should. I would run it around or put it some place warm to dry it out. It doesn't sound serious just sounds like a rev limiter problem
