Default 2008 Raptor 700 warranty Q

Hello y'all I've taken the plunge into the non-American side to ask a question for my buddy

He just bought a 700 Raptor 3 weeks ago, one hell of a bike. last weekend the check engine light came on. He took it to the dealer and they just told him today that the speed sensor is bad.

But they won't replace it because the bike has been rolled. Now he told me he didn't roll it, and there are NO scratches on the bike at all. They said there is a sensor on the bike that can tell if it's been flipped.

One is there a sensor? I don't believe it but........................

Two if there is, why would it matter......................................

Three don't go to K's Motorsports on I45 past the Woodlands in Houston! (if they don't fix it) He's going to pick it up today, unfixed.......................

thanks y'all

Jay

i just bought one about a month ago im not sure if theres a sensor but if you have a warranty on the quad and your friend rolled it there probally not gonna fix it. People get confused between insurance and a warranty its 2 different things if you wreck your quad or whatever its your fault, but (example) if your just driving and your handlebars snap in half then the warranty covers it. If the factory warranty's covered plp jacking there vehicles up they would lose there asses.

Doesn't sound right to me, there is a engine speed sensor for rpm to control the fuel injection and even if the quad rolled I don't see how it would hurt it. Quads roll all the time and unless it's directley related to the problem it should be fixed under warranty. I would want to know what they are basing the roll explaination on and than I would call yamaha customer service and complain

If there's one thing I'm good at it's complaining

even if he did roll it if that isn't what caused the problem it would be covered. I think his dealer is being a jerk about it. I took mine in for warranty work with the exhaust and all the mods and they did warranty work on it and didn't say 1 word about anything

HMF full exhaust, Dobeck controller, K&N filter and billit intake adapter all of which
would chang the factory map and could if not set right cause engine problems

Also the fact that I buy a new raptor from the same dealer every year or 2 doesn't hurt my cause. If they turned a warranty down I would take my business eleswere

I know they're aftermarket and I put them on myself. I just mentioned it because after I put this stuff on I had a warranty job done at the dealer and they didn't say anything about the mods
