I agree on the Chinese crap... Don't do it! 250 raptor is just ok for a guy your size. My chick has a 250 raptor and she loves it but she is brand new to riding. I rode it for a few miles and it handled me no problem (220lbs) but it did feel a little small in size. Just get a 400ex Honda. I think it will be perfect for you. Plenty of power, plenty of size. Good luck!

Take that 3K and put it towards a good used 700 Raptor, or a 400 EX, even a Warrior. You can't make chicken salad out of chicken @#$% lol

We bought a Raptor 250 for our 12 year old son, back when he was 11. It is a great ATV, and we have not had one single problem with it. We are now on our second set of tires, so it has had lots of use, and it runs as good as it did on day one. I am 5' 11" and weigh 240, and I can ride the Raptor quite comfortably. It is actually quite fun to zip around on, and it is so small and light that you can easily manhandle it through sand whoops in fifth gear, and the little fart of a quad just sucks it up. The engine is quite torquey as well, and it will easily climb some serious hillclimbs, ... more than you would think it could for a 250cc ATV. My 12 year old son weighs 100 lbs and climbed Sand Mountain at Little Sahara (UT) on his Raptor 250, with a set of Skat Trak paddle tires. Sand Mountain is a 700 foot high sand hill climb.

I do not think I would want a Raptor 250 as my only ATV to ride though. It is too small and would get pretty boring as an only ATV for an adult I would think. But I would certainly buy a Raptor 250 as my only ATV way way way before I would buy any Chinese ATV on the planet.

You can pay for what you want now or pay for repairs and the realization that you made a bad choice later. Get a quad that you can grow into and you won't be wishing that you did. Go with a brand name and get it over with. Buy a quad that has more power than you will need and you will be glad you did.
