Default I need a warrior wiring harness.(Help Please)

I recently purchased 2 warriors. trying to make 1 good bike. The frames are 2000 and 2001. but i am unsure what year the engine is! I have everything but the relays and main harness plugging in to voltage reg. Its also missing headlight, tailight, starter switch, and all of the plugs for them. My problem is that my cdi box doesnt look like a 2000-01 cdi. Im thinking engine may be off of an older warrior. Can someone save me from buying the wrong harness or help identify year model of my engine? What years will interchange?

Call Yamaha Customer Relations-1-800-962-7926, and ask them. Have the VIN # from the engine. It should be stamped on it somewhere.

Default thanks for the tip!

Thanks for the yamaha relations phone #. I will give them a call. I have been talking to salvage yards everywhere and they couldn't give me an answer on the engine and they were set on selling me a harness for a 2001. but checking into parts online I noticed that my cdi plugs looked different than a 2001 cdi. This looked like an excellent web site to drum up info. Thanks again. the help was greatly needed. Ill post info recieved from yamaha corp.

Thanks again for the phone number but unfortunately it was also a dead end. They ran engine number and cdi number and couldnt find anything. But their web site had some great wiring diagrams that helped me find my answers. (www.yamaha-motor.com) In my research I have learned it doesnt matter the year of the engine. the most important thing buying a new harness is to identify the stator wires and buying the harness, cdi, and voltage regulator to match the stator plugs. My stator and voltage regulator are 1997-2001. And my cdi unit is off of a 1990-1996. LOL!! Thats what had me so confused!!!!Wrong CDI and missing relays. To make a long story short, I could have been buying original parts for my 2001 warrior all along. LOL!!! Ill post before and after pics when its finished.

I bought a new harness about a week ago. But there are a few parts I still need to get it going. I need a cylinder head. the previous owner destroyed this one trying to drill out the exhaust studs. I also need a rear brake caliper and a few other cosmetic parts. (tail light, dash cover, head lights, and a grab bar.) Maybe a few more things. But i have all kinds of extra parts for a warrior. Complete front brake system, springs, rear brake resevoir, swing arm, steering stem, cdi for 1996 or earlier, 01 voltage regulator, and some other things. If anyone has any parts I may need and would like to maybe do a partial trade for the parts I need or has parts cheap. Hit me up. I cant wait to get this thing running. I have a blaster I just rebuilt completely. Vito's big bore and stroker kit. Aftermarket exhaust and all the goodies. Im curious to see how the warrior compares. Im sure the blaster is faster but its fresh. I bet i will be rebuilding the blaster engine first. LOL Thanks guys for the replies.
