moto 4 serial #

Keith - The best thing to do is just call your local Yamaha shop or even call the Yamaha customer service number listed on the main website. I have a 1991 Moto 4 and was not really sure of the year and neither was the guy that sold it to me. So I took the serial number to a dealer near where I live and he looked it up. I think Yamaha made the Moto 4 in a 225 from about 85-89, then it was a 250 from about 90-94 and then I think it was a 350 94/95ish before they went to the next model which I think was the Bear Tracker. Good Luck!

I think most of them had two serial numbers --- one for the vehicle identification number and one for the engine serial number. The VIN is stamped into the left side of the frame down low forward of the gear shift. The engine serial number is on the right side basically on top of the crank case and just behind where the exhaust pipe runs beside the engine. I think the VIN is the number you want to use when trying to determine the year it was made.
