Default Yamaha warrior desperate help needed!

So Im building a little buggy and I bought a 2001 yamaha warrior engine off eBay, then I bought a 1997 harness, I have a brand new ignition coil, a used regulator off eBay and a cdi box that came with the engine every main component for the harness is there but I get no spark so I read forums and heard about the stator so I bought a brand new stator I went to turn over the engine and I get a tiny spark at the beginning of the ignition but then it stops while I'm turning it over. Now I don't know what the problem is but all the little switches for example on the manual say parking switch or lever switch I don't have the things that plug into those wires I just thought I wouldn't need that, also a problem in the engine is that I can't get it into neutral and I can't spin or stop the sprocket while the engine is turning over when I have the clutch engaged and idk what the problem can be with that I hope I didn't buy it with a messed up tranny so I'm sorry for all this info but I'm really hoping you guys can help me and fix my motor I have yet to hear it run

there should be some wires roughly around the key switch that should need plugged into each other.

only other thing i can think of is maybe the pickup coil is bad maybe, seems to be the only part not tested yet

Well I have a brand new spark plug and a brand new ignition coil if the pickup coil is in the stator assembly then it's also brand new because I bought a totally new stator

I am actually doing the same, building a buggy with a 2001 Warrior 350 engine. I disabled the clutch switch by connecting the black and yellow wire to the black wire (these are the only two that come out of that switch).

I also disabled the parking switch by leaving the green and yellow wire and black wire (again, the only two going to that switch) disconnected.

Try it and post if it helped or not.

Well I just left my engine at my frends shop to fix the tranny so I'm hoping that the reason it won't spark because it wasn't in gear. I'm gunna check it out when I'll be able to have it in neutral if anyone has more advice I'm glad to take it thanks
