2000 Big Bear 400 4x4 carb, fuel system ???
My four wheeler was leaking gas out of the carburetor overflow when it was running. It ran alright other then that. I took the carb off and took the float bowl off today and sure enough the needle & seat was stuck open. Other then that the inside of the carb looked good. I sprayed the carb choke cleaner in every hole, all the jets, vacuum tubes, and cleaned off the needle and sprayed out the seat really good. Then sprayed the outside of the carb just to clean it. I put the float, needle and seat back in and put the float bowl back on. I put the carb back on and it runs the same as it did before and there is no more gas leaking.
I'm using Sta-Bil in the fuel now. Is there any fuel treatments for these small engines I can use to clean the carb/fuel system as it runs? Like the fuel treatments they make for cars and trucks. I bought this four wheeler new in late 1999 when they first came out. It's been a great four wheeler. It just needs a little TLC now.
Thanks, NYH1!
