Default 450 kodiak (IRS) U-JOINTS

Does anyone know or has replaced the rear u-joints on the IRS, I just need to know if it is nessary to remove all the rear end to achive the R&R or can you take the 4-bolts out of the dif. and just slide it back far enough to slide the U-joint out.
Hope I have made myself clear enough so you know whatI am trying to achive.

Thanks for your time;

Default U joints

Just for those who might care; I did the repair myself, not fun but it is done. So all you have to do is take of the C clips and remove the old caps, requires a little hammer and a punch.
Then take the drive shaft to the vice and knock out the rest of the caps, then just a little tap to get the new u joint in.
good luck ;

Sounds like you go it

You can remove the 2 bolts that hold the rear diff to the frame - that will allow you to seperated the splined drive shaft. And then procede as you stated.

Also if you want - shoot me an email I have a present for ya I know Xmas is next month.. but I do have the 03-06 kodiak 450 service manual....
