Grizzly EPS questions.

Grizzly EPS questions.
Hi All,
I am wondering how the EPS system is holding out on the Grizzly's? I was doing more reading yesterday, and another brand, (also released in 09.) some folks are reporting that their steering boxes are starting to get sloppy. I do not know what their style of riding is, but wonder how the Yamaha units are holding out.
Looking at getting a new Kodiak/Grizz 450, or a used low mile 550, and would like to know now, just what will be on the horizon for me 3 or 4 years down the road, like will I be replacing a steering box, or will they be durable.
Thanks.

From all the research I did before buying my new machine is some riders notice there steering stem starts to squeak . They say the factory grease wears thin/out causing the noise . There is a $40 fix tho making the problem go away , as for the reliability of the power steering unit my research show's me there's very few problem with it compared to other models . The Yamaha steering unit is the first one of the best and IMO still the best unit out for all around usefulness. The early 07 models had a vent tube that could get water into the system causing the casings to crack under cold temps during freeze ups. Those have since been updated on newer models to solve the issue. I only know of one that has failed with this kind of condition. As far as the sloppy issues go, I know of 5 machines with EPS and that have over 5000ea without any issues whatsoever. Mine has 3000+ miles without one single problem and has ridden VERY hard.
