The YFZ450's have been around longer and production #'s are higher than the other 450's, because they're the best!

This right here. The YFZ was released earlier than the others, and Yamaha had it pretty much correct from the get go. Even the first model year ('04) only had a few minor issues to be dealt with. Good machines for sure. There are more for sale because there are more out there in general.

Yamaha YFZ is sporty Quad and looks more attractive than the predecessor.

My 2005 YFZ has been very reliable and I don't have any intentions of selling it.One of my friends has a new YFZR and as much as I like my 05 I like his new R better. It's easier to ride and responds well to basic, simple mods that the average person is likely to do.On our local 1/8th mile IHRA dragstrip he is actually about 1/10th of a second faster than I am and he probably weighs around 80lbs more than I do.

My 05

I'm trying something different for my next race which may or may not work very well. You don't see very many ATV's that are factory width at the events that I race at and the ones that you do see aren't very competitive.Low and wide is where it's at.

I'm fairly lucky to live where I live at and be an ATV enthusiast because in my area as well as the surrounding areas ATV Rodeo's and ATV dragracing are really popular and have been since about 1994.Over the years I've gotten to see probably every production ATV made raced in a controlled enviroment against a timing system with everything from a stock motor and exhaust to a fully built motor running Nitrous Oxide.
