Default 98 or 99 big bear 350

the start does not quit running. i can turn the key on and hit the start button. when it starts the start continues to run .any ideas of where to start before i shoot it

Sounds like the starter bendix is shot. It allows the starter to "kick out" when the engine is running. Sometimes they go bad and the starter spins when the engine is running because of it. It will burn your starter up if you run it like this.

i think so it has a relay that turn off power to starter selinod
