Yamaha Timberwolf Idle/choke problems & Slipping Gear
Just got it back togeather, It will not idle with the choke off no matter what, It seems to be puffing out the carb right before it dies with the choke on half, carb has been apart and cleaned, engine just had a valve job, Has been timed, and valves adjusted, its also spitting out the breather tub whitish watery stuff. I assume this is moisture? I have a few videos that I will be uploading soon, Also seems to be spitting watery stuff out the exhaust pipe and white smoke when I first started it after running it for 10 mins earlier, Another issue I am having is its slipping out of gear, Not sure why? Any ideas?

Checked compression, Also took carb apart and recleaned and reset everything, Also put gasket maker on both ends of the intake sealing surface to be sure it was not a air leak, Also tried to time again, Compression is 117PSI with the throttle closed, 125 with it open, Its also spitting oil out the breather. Over 70 views and no one has any advice?

If it would start and idle with the choke on, I would think the main/needle would not be a factor. However, the backefire could be a lean ondition from the pilot, main jet or needle. Needing the choke would indicate a problem in the pilot circut. Clean the choke plunger and make sure the cable is operating freely. Make sure the pilot is clear, and check the float seat for blockage, and damage to the float needle. Need fuel flow from the bowl and shut off for the pilot circut to function. Have you changed the O rings around the seat and jets? As wel,l a backfire and burping out the carb and running lean can be an air leak......,but you checked that. Tough one. My t wolf bennefited from a rebuild when a cleaning did not fix the problem. My thought was the new o-rings sealing off each circut. Adjusting the float takes some hand-eye coordination, but is not tough. Do you have a manual for the specs?
Mixture, idle and main needle adjustments are generally the fine tuning once you have it running. The mixture needs to be rich enough ,to keep it idleing at the right RPM w/out choke, while still allowing it to come off throttle. Hopefully someone else can offer up something simple I am missing.

After two days of cursing at it I found out what was wrong , Turns out the flywheel was not seating correctly letting the key to sheer, Also the carb was not set right and needed to be cleaned one again, Runs like a top now, Goes up hills like they are nothing in any gear, Lots of power Not sure why people say they are under powered. Only thing left is to mount a winch, Any ideas where?
