Default timberwolf slow return to idle

i got a yamaha timberwolf i just recently bought. been sitting for a while, so i decided to rebuild the carb. rebuilt it, installed and it started right up. it will idle pretty smooth but only thing is that it is slow to idle. It will rev up and then instead of instantly going back to idle, its takes like 7 or 8 seconds. Any idea what could be causing this? any help is appreciated

I had this issue with my big bear. I fixed the problem by richening the air/fuel screw(counterclockwise), and lowering the idle as I went. Go out a turn, adjust the idle down and see if it helped. If so keep going till its right. It is a frustrating problem because there is no engine braking when it hangs off idle. Lol. Let me know if this helps.

thanks for reply. i adjusted the fuel/air mixture screw and it idled down a lot better. I also noticed the boot that ran from carburetor to air filter box was loose, i tightened it and it made a big difference. Thanks again.
