Whats the difference between a Raptor 700, and a Raptor 700R?

The R has higher end shocks. Probably more shock that 85% of the average Raptor owners will ever need. The standard shocks are just fine for general trail riding and what not. Personally, I would go for the R unless the plan is to go all out with aftermarket stuff in the first year or so of ownership.

I'm sourcing my info from owning a Raptor 700 and from Dirtwheels magazine. I could do 1/8 mile dragstrip at 68 mph on my 700 and was just shifting into 5th gear across the finish line - had a whole lot more to go. Dirtwheels states the Raptor 700 will do 74 mph, the YFZ450 is right there with it, the Banshee would do 72 mph, Warrior 55 mph.......

All the 450's and up sport quads are capable of at least low 70's stock. It is all about optimized gearing and having a long enough straight to run. I remember Dirt Wheels or ATV Action had an LT500 on radar at over 100mph with mods and gearing. This would be late 80's early 90's time frame.
