Well let me start off by saying I'm new to this site. I have quite a bit of experience with atvs but I still consider myself a newbie.I traded some 250r parts for Yamaha warrior parts..... I honestly don't know why I did this...haha.....I was going to just give them away but atleast I got something out of it. well the parts look almost like a full atv minus some obvious things like a frame wheels and some other stuff. Well I want to make a quad out of these parts but I need to know what year frame I need to buy. Can I tell the year by looking at some of the parts like the swingarm or maybe the engine? Thanks for any help.

 

If the ball joint on the a arms are removable it's an 87 which means you'll need an 87 or 88 frame. Does the motor have a pullstart?

Then you'll probably need an 89+ frame unless you have a mixed parts lot

 

Alright thanks. Will look at the arms when i get home. Pretty sure the parts are from the same bike because they are painted the same. Will a 2004 frame work? Or does it have to be older.

Got everything together. Scored a deal for a 89 frame for 140 and they through in a bolt kit too....had to buy some used parts off craigslist.....still need a airbox have a cheap upc airfilter popped on the carb right now....have a couple a problems..... 1 is that I got it running then tried to start it the next day when my battery died (left the lights on) and I jumped it on a 89 f150 while the truck was off and now my battery won't charge up its about a month old....another thing is that my carb's needle sometimes doesnt fall in were its supposed to and I really want to upgrade to an Edelbrock 3011 is there other. better ones I should consider. Thanks for all your help.

Really need some help, i cant find the problem its very frustrating, checked the fuse and its good, could it be the regulator? once again the truck was off when i jumped it.
