Default 2013 vs 2014 Grizz

Hey Guys:

I now have an '05 Kodiak 450IRS. I'm looking at getting a 700. I really like the frame size of the 450, but have ridden a 2013 Grizzly w/ EPS and can deal with the added size.

I'm looking at getting a 700 (2 actually. One for the wife also) We're both on Kodiaks now. I have 1.5 inch spacers on my Kodiak and it made a HUGE difference. I know Yamaha widened the 2014 by approximately 1.5" per side. 2007-2013 Grizzlys can be had for almost half (almost) the cost of the 2014. Here's the question.

Would a 2007 or 2008 Grizz 700 with 1.5 spacers be roughly as stable as the 2014 which has already been widened by the factory? I know there are some other small changes but the biggest change to me seems like the width. Incidentally, if I buy the 2014 I'm NOT looking to add wheel spacers. SO basically the comparison is the earlier model 700 with spacers vs. the 2014 without.

Thanks for your opinions!

The only difference I can see it a 1/2" more front suspension travel and tiny bit less rear travel. No width change Still 46.5" like it always has been. Makes sense since the frame/chassis and drivetrain has never changed since 2007. 2013 Yamaha Grizzly 700 FI Auto. 4x4 ATVs
Its not like the Grizzy is known as tippy ATV, but another option is replace the 8" wide front tires with 9" and the 10" rears with 11" or 12" wide.
The Grizzly stock tires are very basic low end trail tires and you would want to change them soon enough anyways.
My little 350 Grizzly has 26x9" fronts and 26x11" on them with a wider foot print.

Here is another comparison with the same 46.5 width. http://www.yamahamotorsports.com/out...4/0/specs.aspx and its a official Yamaha site.
Use the "Choose Comparison model" link on there site.
The Grizzly has had the same HxWxL from 2007 to 2014.

The last major change was the 660 Grizzly to the current 686 Grizzly and that took a good eye to notice.

Sounds like a dealer is trying to shove a 2014 onto you for more commi$$ion.
