Warrior Rocker arm seals question
I am rebuilding the head on a 2002 warrior. The machine shop removed the old rocker arm pins in the shop, I had to reinstall the new ones when I got it home.
These did not go in easy, took some force to get them in, but the rockers are working well and the pins are in proper place. The problem I have is that the new o-rings that came in my kit were slightly thicker, during the installation of the shafts, the o-rings got shaved somewhat. In my Clymer manual it states if this happens to remove the shafts and start over.
With how tough it was to get them in, I beleive it will be even tougher removing. My question is, what is the purpose of these o-rings? If they dont completely seal, what is it going to hurt as they are just separating the timing chain area from the valve cover area which both see oil. With the tight fit that it was installing the pins, am I really going to see enough seepage to worrry?
