Default UPDATE: 2006 Yamaha Bruin 350 4x4

Well, I replaced the wiring harness with one I bought on Ebay. It was used, and in good shape. I stripped down the atv and replaced the harness. Got it running, and all seems to be well. Got the carb issue straightened out...almost. It still leaks a little gas, but not enough to notice. For now, it seems to run pretty good, and everything works. I rode it for a few minutes after I got it all back together, and then I rode it into the woods yesterday, but never leaving it running for more than 5-10 minutes. I'm still a little nervous, since it left me stranded in the woods a few weeks ago, so I don't want to take it out on any 1-2 hour rides. Anyway, the main reason I bought it was as a utility vehicle...to help get me to and from my hunting spots that are too far to walk to, and to help me drag out the occasional deer. I'm gonna take it out one afternoon this week and push it a little longer, to make sure its dependable.

ONE MORE THING!! I noticed the fan near the oil cooler doesn't run. Is that supposed to run all the time, or only when the engine gets to a certain temperature? Let me know!

If you haven't seen my posts about some of the issues I've had with a Bruin I just bought a few weeks ago, you can see them here:

The fan only comes on at a certain temp. I have the same ATV they changed the name from Bruin to Grizzly in 2007. It takes a fair amount of riding to get the fan to kick on.

Its no big deal even if the fan does not work. My 1989 350 Big Bear 4x4 had the same 348cc motor and did not even have a fan option on its oil cooler. That machine never over heated and still is running to this day. Must be like 10,000 miles on it by now.

Just shut you gas off when you park it. I doubt it leaks gas as long as the motor is running. Might even fix itself one day.
