I recently got a 2500 lbs Harbor Freight (Chicago) winch and need to mount it on my 2007 Yamaha Wolverine but dont want to spend $60.00 on a mount. Any ideas how to mount it? Any pictures would be great. If i cant figure out how to make a mount, what mount do you recccomend? I found one on Ebay that mounts to the frame and the bumper, only useing U bolts and has a mount for the rollar for 60.00. Any help would be much appericated.

While I can't really answer your question, I will provide you the same feedback that was given to me --> Be careful with those HF winches; at the time you need it most, the real quality may let you down. Again, I haven't had one myself, but I'm working through the same process of putting a winch on my 660 Raptor, and that is what I was told. Makes sense though- by the time you get the winch full of water, dirt and grime, it may have a hard time doing its job.

Thanks, and i bought the lifetime warrenty with it and I ride with people and most of them also have winches. I will not be useing this winch very much. Good luck finding one for your raptor.

 

You can make a mounting plate. Its just a plate or steel cut to the correct size with holes in the proper locations for the plate to fasten to the ATV and to fasten the winch to.
After buying a plate and cutting it and drilling it , $60 does not sound to bad.

When I picked up my winch from harbor sounds same as yours I just bought the 5 dollar winch plate they had there after few mods it works fine
