With the Yam solenoid you get one heavy wire from battery, one heavy wire to starter, two thin wires for making the solenoid work, one from the start button the other probably earth, though it could go through a "lockout" first. Now the thinner red wires, they feed positive to the ignition switch and to/from regulator. They would probably have both gone to the same spade in the connector. Check if the "spare" terminal on the white connector block has a female spade in it, if it does, the red would have gone in there.

To me I can see two red wire ends with one having tape on it. Have you spliced the two back together and see what happens?
