Lately my raptor has been cutting out when I give it gas. It is really hurting its abilities to wheelie and accelerate. I do not know what the problem is. Would its timing be to blame? Or is it something else. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you install an inline fuel filter? If not you may have some crud in the carbs causing this trouble. I'd drop the carb bowls and have a peak to see if there's any debris in the bowls. Then spray liberally with carb cleaner.

Yeah, sounds like a temporary lean condition. Happens to my DS650 from time to time. Must clean out carb. In my case must run premium fuel.

Check the e-brake . Its set up like the warrior to kill the throttle when you give gas.

umm check ur parking break, because on my blaster and my brother raptor if the brake is not all the way in then it would sputter like crazy and its sounds like gas is not going anywhere

Dirty carbs do not build horsepower. Dirt in your bowl will cause the bike to sputter and run like crap. If I remember correctly the article you cite stated that they did a bit better with their air filter dirty. You should never allow crud into the carb(s)

Um..... ok.........no comment needed for TRX465. As for the problem - My raptor leans out sometimes when I ride a long wheelie. If it is doing it all the time though, I agree with the parking brake solution. Over time the parking brake needs periodic adjustment to ensure the safety switch on the lever perch disengages when the P.brake is released. If the P.brake is too loose, the switch sometimes remains activated. Otherwise you may just have water or trash in your carbs.

My neighbor packed his carb with sand and gained 17 1/3 HP.
