I think all of you banshee owners should go look at the bombardie forum because they are makeing a ton of fun out of you with the DS. I'm not even a yamaha owner and probably never will be but I think th banshee will always be none as the speed king. I took up for you a little and as much as I could because I don't know much about the DS but just look it up and tell them how lucky you are to own a banshee and maybe tehy will shut up.

I think you're trying to start something. Keep in mind that no one here has actually ridden the DS (outside of the prototype quads the magazines rode). I'm letting them all shoot off their mouths for now. It doesn't bother me that yet another quad is being compared to my old, pathically out-dated, finicky, hard to maintain machine. Frankly, it makes me happy I own such an outstanding quad that has stood the test of time. Can you say "milestone"? "benchmark"? Not many quads out there can be mentioned with those words in a sentence. Heck, the DS might be a really good quad. I really don't care. If it's fast and handles well, then great!! I'm getting sick of only racing other Banshees anyway. The DS adds a bit of variety.

Amen SandmanBlue! Yes I think it is very sad to have to race only Banshees...And I would have to bet $$$ that the DS still wouldn't be able to beat a banshee in a drag race...oh, and another thing, take the extra money that you would have after buying a banshee and spend it on aftermarket goodies, and I don't think the DS will be feared.

How much do you suppose parts are going to be for that DS650? I'm sure it's a good motor, same basic motor as BMW's Dakar bike. But I own a BMW and it's bend over time when getting parts!

The parts department guy will probably give you a can of KY while you're bending over for your parts. Of course I haven't seen cheap or resonable parts for anything I've owned or have now.
