Ask the Editors: Bombardier DS650 Rear Shock Compatibility
Not a lot of swap options but still some options.
Dear ATVC: My rear shock is shot on my 2000 DS650 and I’m having a hard time trying to get it rebuilt. Anyone know if a rear shock off of a different ATV would work – like off a Raptor or something like that?
Well the bad news is there is no other direct OEM shock that will mate up. The good news, however, is there is no shortage of stock units available still on sites like eBay from parted out DS650s. Here is an example of one.
Additionally, and while it is a much pricier option, nearly every aftermarket performance shock maker (Elka, Fox etc.) do offer brand new DS650 shocks for purchase.
Lastly, rebuild kids are still readily available like this one. A competent builder should have no trouble installing one for you.
