Yamaha Timberwolf 250 Valve Specs
The Yamaha Timberwolf 250.

Dear ATVC: I have a Yamaha Timberwolf 250 and am wondering if anyone could tell me the proper timing & valve lash spec?

From the service manual for the Timberwolf 250:

Intake: 0.05mm~0.09mm (0.002″~0.004″)
Exhaust: 0.11mm~0.15mm (0.004″~0.006″)

These specifications apply to top dead center on the compression stroke. Be sure to do your adjusting with the engine cold (heat can expand the metal) and do keep in mind that the intake valve is in the rear while the exhaust is the front-most.

To set the timing, the cam will contain a pin that lines up with the corresponding hole in the cam gear. Look for a notch in the cam sprocket that should line up with the notch in the head itself at top dead center/ valves closed.
