Honda was the first to bring 4-wheel-drive to the ATV game in 1986 with their TRX350 4×4.

It boasted such modern day features as a limited-slip front differential, a vibration-reducing counterbalancer and a fan-assisted oil cooler as standard equipment.

It wasn’t long after that every major manufacturer offered a 4×4 on their ATV line and right from the onset the segment has earned the distinction of being the top seller every year since.

Bonus Fact: 1986 was also the first year Honda designated their ATVs FourTrax (or TRX).
