If a quad stalls in the desert and no one is around to witness it, does the rider make a sound?

2-strokes like the Yamaha Banshee can be an absolute blast in the desert but, if you’ve never had the pleasure, experience something we call “falling off the pipe”.

Because 2-strokes tend to make their power in specific ranges of each gear, it’s very possible to lose power or even stall if you let the RPMs drop. And in the dessert, sand puts up a lot more resistance than hard terrain.

This guy demonstrates exactly what we mean – and a few years back, no one would have been any the wiser. However, since cameras are everywhere these days, there’s no way he can deny it when his friends ask!
