Default New 400cc Tank Scout Arrived

I just got a killer deal on a 2008 Jianshe Yamaha 400cc 4x4. $2600 shipped sounded like a good deal to me... I tightened every nut and bolt, already changed the oil with some 10 40 yamaha oil and put yamaha gear oil in the differentials. Any advise or experiences from anyone on the forums??? I also hear that these atv's being that they are actually really owned and assembled by a branch of Yamaha are actually interchangable with lots of Yamaha parts. I am pretty sure the quad resembles a 00-06 Yamaha Big Bear 400cc 4x4. The body actually looks more like a 2007+ Grizzly 400 though. I can't figure it out so any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Welcome to the forum lowbudget!

Not sure if there are any other posts on that machine here...maybe 1.. I would believe that they are made in the same factory that Yamaha uses...For example, The Jetmoto 250 utility is made in the exact same factory Yamaha uses for their BearTracker...yes in China..

Im looking forward to hearing all you have to say(type) as you spend time with it.

Thanks for the welcome. So far I am somewhat happy with the quad. I uncrated it to find a broke fuel shut off switch ****, broken headlamp/parking light switch, missing a few bolts for the handle bar controls and the mounting tabs for a few of the signal lights are cracked in the amber part of the lense. The head on the engine also looks like it was dropped at some point because there is a small piece of metal missing from one of the fins. I spoke with the guy I purchased it through at Tank Sports yesterday and he requested some pictures and assured me he would make everything right. So we'll see what happens with that. The machine looks to be well built and runs great. I just have to get these few issues dealt with

The nice thing is I bought it through ebay, payed with paypal and they have 100% positive feedback as of right now. I'll give them a bit to make it right before I use any of those things against them

Other than that stuff the quad looks pretty well designed for the cash. How it will hold up to the abuse I put it thorugh might be a different story lol
