Default New SunL 135 110cc quad

Hi all, I am very new to quads and to this forum. I just got this quad for my daughter and I can't seem to get it started. It will turn over and start if I keep pressing the throttle but as soon as I let go it dies, then after trying a few times the battery dies. any help would be greatly appreciated, as I am new to quads and know nothing about them or engines.

Thanks
the mom.

Welcome to the forum siobhan123!

Sounds like you need to adjust your idle screw..Do you know where it is?

It will be a screw sticking out the side of the carb with a visible spring on it.. The other option is some of these quads have a adjustment in the throttle cable itself.. you could get it to idle that way also..

I tried the idle screw, tried to tighten, loosen and every hair pin turn in between, just won't stay idling.

Does it run to the point it's fully warmed up? Is the choke lever down all the way (choke off). I know my 110 is a little finicky until it's warmed. I slowly back the choke lever down until it smooths out as it warms. Mine will sit there and idle all day.

I can't get to run long enough to warm. It starts right away but won't stay running unless I give it some gas then it dies.

What about the choke. Does the carb on your 110 look like this and is the choke lever all the way down once warm?

i'm still thinking fuel delivery problems. float not taking enough in and running empty. petcock valve partially plugged, something about restricting fuel flow. i can't get away from that line of thought.********reading other posts, is the gas tank/cap vented?
