gy6 150cc won't engage forward only reverse

i cant get forward to engage. it goes into reverse fine but not forward. i have no idea whats wrong. please enlighten me with what the problem could be.:huh: its driving me nuts. its like it goes into gear, then pops out and keeps doin this.
