Default 50cc quad has occasional spark

I got a good deal on this quad, came with new plastics and all. When the kills switch is hooked up it has no spark. Im pretty sure its the keyswitch. How can i troubleshoot this?

What brand and model quad? Two stroke or four stroke? How many pins on your CDI? What makes you suspect the ignition switch?

You'll need a meter, and we need to know what CDI you have....

I know nothing about this quad. Can you provides links showing places where this quad can be bought? Do you have pic's?

Again, is it 2 stroke? How many pins on your CDI?

4 stroke. 5 pins. looks like a kazuma engine. model is actually a 2006 hornet. does that make sense?

I'm wondering why you are reporting that you have no spark, yet at the same time in another post you say the quad starts up if you hold the throttle wide open. Huh?

If you have no spark the quad won't start up.

You've got some explaining to do ...
