Linhai 260cc has no spark.

I have a linhai 260cc water cooled that i bought off a friend and it has no spark. So far i've replaced the stator and i am thinking of buying a cdi but i want to know if any one knows the voltage specs first. Like how many volts are suppose to go into the cdi and come out any help would be great.

how're you testing for spark? have you tried a different NGK spark plug? once in a while it's just a bad plug. i've had a Linhai 260cc quad just like yours. decent sized quad and it rides good. nice and big. why did you replace the stator/alternator? were the magnets rusted in there? you probably ought to check out the backside of the keyed ignition to make sure the kill part in there ain't jacked up. you also should check the "on/off/on" or red kill switch on the left handlebar slide switch to make sure it's working correctly. i'd start with those kill switches and a new plug.

well i replaced it cause the system was not charging. i use a voltage meter to test the spark and it comes to .23 to .3 volts DC and when i hook up the meter to the pink wire that powers the cdi i get 10.5 to 11 volts DC. i also test the continuity on the spark plug its self and it read good.

test around the kill switches. let"s see what they have to offer

How do i go about testing one? I have never tested one I have always had the option to just switch one out but i dont this time.

trace the wiring out on the switches, use an ohm meter/voltmeter to test for ground/continuity from one end to the other. this'll tell you about wire integrity. also, look the wiring over for pinches, cracks, breaks, and any other wire jacket/insulation deficiencies. the kill switches, once activated, ground out the circuit to "kill" the spark. with any wiring deficiency, it'll do it on its own without switch activation. thus, therein would lie the problem(s).

I have a voltmeter that makes a beeping noise when testing for continuity and when i have it ground to the engine and to the pink wire it beeps so does that mean its the kill switch?

The kill switch was the problem I appreciated the help a bunch thank you.
