carburetor issue and needs replacement
#31
i wouldn't think it would cost almost $200 to rebuild that carb. yikes. i've priced them for less than $50 for a replacement. sometimes these chinese carbs just can't be adjusted anymore and are just screwed. didn't think i was giving bad advice, but i was a little confused on some items. it has to be a fuel issue, but the carb could be sucking in air where it ain't supposed to sucking in air and that ain't helping the situation. that's why i leaned towards rebuild. thought that'd be cheaper than replacement. BUT, replacement should be considered. cut me a little slack, i was working the graveyard shift on part of this and posting in the morning when i should've been sleeping after being up all night. ha ha.

OK look at his post on the first page.. It is hard to make out but he write;
" i puller out the jets sprayed them with carb cleaner and made sure that i was ablt to see throught them and then sprayed the bowl and the rest of the carb. then other times i dipped it in a gallon can of carb cleaner for 30-60 min which worked for a while but then it went back to not driving. i used a compressor to make sure there was no blockage of the tubes/passage ways and there are no leaks and the needle valve and intake boot is clear the way it runs i checked today is that there isnt enough gas going into the carb bowl. it will idle great but if you give it too much throttle it will drive great till the gas in the bowl runs out and it will stall and only start after a few moments after more gas flows into the bowl"
To me this is the only absolute thing he has said about his problem. And I am guessing that he means that the fuel is not flowing into the bowl fast enough to keep up with the engine at a higher speed or any thing over idle.
So I apologise for thinking you had mind reading skills. And I hope I translated his sentence correctly.
As soon as we get a Yes or No on that then maybe we can get him back to riding.

no apology necessary my friend! now that i reread that, the needle valve sounds like it is stuck in the seat! that akin to having your water spigot open 1/4 of the way open and expecting 100 gpm to flow through it. not gonna happen. he'll need to take the carb apart, remove float, needle valve, repull the jets and rod them out. use a QTip in the seat and clean the needle valve. reassemble, check float/needle valve action to make sure it is working, the reinstall and try it. sorry if my advice was as clear as mud...
