Panther 110cc atv won't crank
 

I have a Panther 110PL-2B atv that I got for my son. When I got it it would only click at the starter solinoid when you tried to crank it, so I checked my voltage everywhere and found out the the starter was bad. I put a new starter on it and now it will crank but sounds like the battery is dead and barely turns over. If I pull the spark plug out it will crank over perfectly, but as soon as you put the plug back in it goes back to barely turning over. Any help would be appreciated.

Flat battery or wires from starter to solenoid, solenoid to battery, or battery earths poor. Charge the battery, if that doesn't work, remove and clean the terminals on above wires. You can't check starter circuits with a voltmeter either.

take the battery and get it load tested. may save you a lot of headache Battery may charge and hold voltage fine but may have not have the reserve power to turn over properly.

I have had the battery load tested and it checks out good. They load tested it at 100 cranking amps and it only calls for 50 cranking amps. The wire from the starter to the solenoid is brand new. The battery has 13v and test good. Should I check ohms throughout everything?

I use a test lamp on starter circuits rather than a meter as you need to check for power rather than volts. Have you cleaned those starter cable and earth terminals?

My granddaughter has a Panther 110. It is a bear to start sometimes, almost like it has super high compression. Also had to replace her starter once so far. Have a Yusa battery that was installed with in the past year. My thoughts, too much voltage drop going through the starter circuit. Maybe at the switch itself. I was considering running a relay off the starter button to send current to the starter. Never got that far as my youngest daughter got remarried and the four wheeler left with them. Just something to consider.
