1995 Honda fourtrax 300 2x4 The carb. has been rebuilt, and now it idles fast but the adjustment screw is all the way out. ???

 

Check the cable adjuster on the handlebar lever box. If the cable is tight, the lever on the carb doesn't touch the adjuster on the carb. Other possibilities are butterfly sticking or an air leak, or choke slightly open.

Couple thoughts:
1) make sure the slide/needle jet is installed correctly and verify visually or by feel that your slide almost bottoms out with no throttle
2) make sure your intake boot is installed correctly & has no cracks - excess air can raise the idle...

Honda 300s have a butterfly throttle CD carb.

 

Oh...well that makes it easier then...


But surprising at the same time...
