Help - how do I correctly reinstall these parts?
 

As it will soon become apparent, I am an ATV novice. I am changing the oil on my Coolster 110 cc quad for the first time. The manual appeared to indicate that there are two oil drain plugs. The plug in the center was an oil drain plug but the one on the left side was not. When I removed this plug, a spring loaded shaft shot out. Doh!

Please see the attachment named parts.jpg. What are these parts? Part of the transmission? How do I reinstall them correctly? Like what is shown in the attachment named part install order.jpg? Do the holes in the shaft need to be oriented in a particular way?

yep i make that mistake everytime i do a oil change..LOL... steel shaft - spring - plug... just like your second pic

Thanks for the info. It happened so fast and I wasn't expecting it so I didn't see the order in which they shot out. After a few choice expletives, I almost installed them in this order but thought I should confirm the order so I didn't damage the engine.
