a bunch of my local freinds run octane booster, and i was wondering if this is good or bad. with my mods my banshee is running great, and finally jetted right, so does octane booster really help or not?

drop it in some KLOTZ octane booster, you won't regret it,it will actually run better if timing is retarded,it very help if you're not sure of the local gas station stuff,on a modded engine it will help to run cooler and give some extra hp with the timing properly set.

Actually, octane booster helps only if you are running compression high enough to warrant higher octane or if your timing is ADVANCED far enough. All octane does is resist detonation. You want to run the lowest octane possible to achieve the most power. If you don't you are actually preventing the engine from burning all the fuel, yes it does run cooler and safer, but less power. That is why some snowmobiles (Polaris) have a key to advance the timing when running higher octance fuel.

But in most instances, you can't tell by the seat of your pants that there is a difference.

It's good and bad. Octane booster and especially oxygenated boosters raise fuel requirements. Since you are jetted fine....I wouldn't use any booster. A veteran tuner can have trouble tuning oxygenated fuel....be VERY weery of this!!!!
