Just wanted to know what cam you guys would recomend for a 300EX with a white bros. exhaust, headpipe, and a K&N filter. I am really considering the powroll one. How does it compare to the other cams out there, and what are they? How much of a difference do you think it will make? Is it a worthwhile investment. Thanks in advance.

I believe you can trust Powroll's recommendations.

Further, regarless of brand names, I THINK there are only one, maybe two, grinders of aftermarket cams for single-cylinder engines in the entire industry. So, regardless of the label, I think the same guys are grinding your cam on the same machine to the same profile.

Choosing, a cam, I'd consider the kind of riding I have in mind and decide how much lift, duration, and overlap I wanted over the stock stick, then buy the one with the closest specifications to my purpose. Increasing each of these parameters will increase potential top end power output, but higher lift lowers durability, and duration and overlap penalize low- and mid-range performance.

Alas, life is filled with compromises.

Check out www.webcaminc.com I think they have 3 or 4 different profiles for the 300EX.

Tree Farmer is right, I think Webcam and Megacycle are the only 2 cam grinders. I put Webcam's bolt in "general improvement" cam in my 300ex, with a WB E-series pipe. It really improved the midrange, and still revs pretty good to the rev limiter. I think that Webcam will also recommend that you have your rocker arms hardwelded ($65 each), with a new cam.
