Go with the Auto..I got a 5 speed and it has been nothing, but trouble..There is something wrong with the transmission and Suzuki can not fix it..Not all 5 speeds have this problem, but I can tell you several guy's who have..The Vinson is a great bike the power, handling, and ride are all very great!

I'm riding a 2000 Artic Cat 500 ACT & I won't buy another one. If I hear of one more broken axle on those damn machines I'm gonna puke! My advice would be to go with a Honda or a Yamaha - I don't know about Bombarrider. If you take a look at all of the forums you'll notice that most of the posts are bad - this broke, that broke - but the Honda and Yamaha forums mostly just talk about after market mods. I would say that that should tell you something.
Before you look at an AC, check out the AC forum.

I have an 03 auto. It has been good, no problems yet. It is NOT a muddin machine...not enough ground clearance. For anything else it is a great machine, imo. I ride mud, have to because of where I live and it's costing me to make this thing a decent mudder. Wish now I would've went with an irs machine, sportsman or rincon, possibly bomb outlander would be my choice. Like I said, the vinson has been great for trail riding, minor mudding, etc. Lots of power, which is always cool.
PS I paid 6300 otd with front and rear bumpers included.

I bought two Vinsons last weekend and took them out immediately. I'm not that experienced but so far, I love them. My wife and I caught the bug riding our neighbors ATVs while camping and she said "Hey, how come we don't have one of these?" Two days later she said she wanted two! I jumped at the opportunity and started the research. Almost bought the Rincon but settled on the Vinson 500LTAs. I think I got an awesome deal: $5800 for an 03 and $5200 for an 02 (still in crate). I live in Alaska (no sales tax!) and was prepared to pay 15% over MSRP, like most of my buddies. Maybe it was the package deal or my creative haggling, but I had a great experience at the local Suzuki dealer. Can't wait for the weekends! Alaska is awesome (especially with 20 hours of daylight right now). Even better with an RV and two Vinsons!
Really like the forum, guys. I lurked quite a bit while researching new ATVs. Thanks for the insight.

Hey, I am from Eagle River also. I have been looking hard at either the Vinson or Eiger. I know if I get the Eiger I will want more power. However the questionable mud performance concerns me. I want a 4 wheeler that will handle good on the trails, climb mountains and cross DEEP mud pits. It will be just for fun, you know, riding and camping, no hard work involved. I have a Quadsport 400 for racing around on, but want something to get deep into the backcountry with. The combonation of 2 wheel drive and low ground clearence is fun, but rutted mountain trails are impossable. All my friends have Polarises and I am tired of hearing how great they are. Although I am a huge Predator fan.
Are you happy with Anchorage Suzuki? I am at my wits end with them. They do not stock any parts and they make you pay for all orders up front. The parts I ordered finally came in and yesterday was the first day I could get over there. Guess what? They are closed on Mondays.
