yamaha BearTracker ? about the a-arms
#1
i am looking into a Yamaha BearTracker. It will be my frist quad. i live by a lot of trails and wooded areas. I am wondering about the the singel a-arms. my friend said there not good. Someone said i could still jump with it but it would be a hard landing, i dont mind the hard landing but, i just wanna know that i wont break anything(the jumps are not that big).

I don't like the idea of the single a-arms. I would also consider the Recon and Ozark because they are a little sportier. (with double a-arms) Single a-arms may wear the tires more than a double. The Beartracker is more on the utility side. Look it over and compare it to the others in the $3500. price range. Compare the over all looks, positioning of the reverse and choke, etc... The Beartracker also weighs about 50 lbs. more. Then if the Beartracker fits your needs then buy one.

The Beartracker actually has McPhearson struts on the front end. And they are much better than single A-arms. I just sold my Beartracker a couple days ago and got a Warrior yesterday. Beartracker's are incredible on the trails, but I live near mosty open spaces. The Kawasaki Bayou 250 has single A-arms up front, and they really aren't very sturdy. The front end on the Beartracker makes slow, technical trail riding very comfortable. The Beartracker is also 200-300 dollars cheaper than the Recon or Ozark. The Beartracker is an incredibly durable, tough machine. I would take it any day over the other two if you don't want to have to stop and fix it on the trail.

The Beartracker retails at $3499., the Recon S $3499. and the Ozark $3499. I have seen the Beartracker sell for less. The Beartracker does have single a-arms. I can't speak for the Ozark but I've never had trouble with my Recon on the trails. The Recon is very reliable.
blaster1101, Maybe you should get a sport quad. Once you have a 250 for a while you might want more power, better handling, better suspension, more fun. Blaster, 250EX, Z250, Mojave, 300EX, or Warrior to start. Then you won't be trying to sell the 250 utility for as much as you can get to put towards a sport quad later.
