Has anyone heard of a new honda sport quad????

 

Expect it only when the competition from Suzuki and Yamaha is so fierce, that they can't sell any more 400EX's.

 

Why come out with a new Honda, when the 400ex can spank the Raptor. Check out some pictures of my Honda turbo charged 400EX......

Make your own quads! There all kinda lame powerwise [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] Get a good rolling chassis and go to town witht he engine of choice. One of my buds has a Kawi ex500 powered LT250, the other is making a 400ex with a '79 Yamaha 650 parallel twin. Old motor, but its a commonly flat tracked bike engine, so the aftermarket is pretty good. 55hp stock, can get close to 100 with mods [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

Then your stuck with a big heavy tank...and some "thing" that the resale value will be terrible on. If you want power and something decent you need to spend $$ into your engine...or go with a LIGHT dirtbike engine...With all the crap out for banshee's it's possible to pull over 130 hp out of that engine...250R engines can produce a good amount with a 370 that is setup correctly...basically you can get anything to produce a lot more then stock without having to swap in some insanly heavy old bike engine that your frame is not designed to hold....

 

Yes but remember reliability. A 370 kit is not going to run for very long. Any two stroke that is beefed up a ton is not going to last long.

I would prefer a KTM 520 motor. Or if you want two stroke get an ATK700 motor. That would give you power.

 

Then go with a 310 kit and skip the stroker... you have a reliable..powerful ride...310's are capable of 65hp...plus 250R's are allready lighter then most of the "boats" being produced today...power to weight ratio....

 

Heavy tank, lol. Possibly yeah. So- go your route then, buy a 250 R, what, 3K to 4K? Then stick 1K-2K in the motor, fix all the old crap on it, bushings, shocks, whatevers shot, and you'll have a fast 6 to 8 thousand dollar quad just like everyone else. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] Or you could spend a grand or 2 and have a fun, faast quad that no-one else has. The two quads I mentioned are fairly heavy, but that's because of the choice of engines. If you wanted to spend the cash on a newer motor, like a CRF 450 or such you would'nt have that problem. They went with those engines cause they were dirt cheap and made good power.

Two strokes are light, but I hate the retarded powerband "most" have.
