my boddy races one and does pretty good but every weld EVERY one is cracked or the paint has chipped around it. if you get one have the frame gusseted?(not sure of spelling) by lonestar they will fix all the welds and powdercoat the frame any color for around 400$.

The Z has very good power for a 400cc quad, it has alot of torque and can do jumps very well. It also has very very nice suspension so you dont hit hard after jumps. The only bad thing is that there chassi is cracking and not very sturdy. Also they have a very weak axle. They respond very well to a pipe, filter, and jet kit. Yoshi also makes a 450 kit that really opens this baby up.

ALba racing also makes alot of stuff for the Z, just though I would add that.

I just got a KFX400 two days ago, It runs very well. I also have a 400ex. The KFX400 makes my honda look like trash. I can't wait to get the motor built and some arms & shocks. I can't race it till I gusset the frame. My advice is to buy one. Even if honda ever comes out with a CRF450, I don't think it will be much faster than a Z or KFX after they both get the engine built. Just look at Doug Gust, his bike runs right next to the CRF450's. I saw a 450Z (Yoshimura Kit) beat a Lonestar CRF450 (built by Trinity) in a drag race. I am not saying the Z or KFX is faster than a CRF450 but they can run right next to them.

I was racing on the stock frame for a while........ Because I am only 130 lbs, the frame held up nicely.... though I know many many people, many more than I want to admit knowing, have crack their frame severly.... All I can suggest is gusset the frame ahead of time before chipping of paint and cracking start existing..... In regards to the engine, with a simple pipe kit, it does very very well.... but with the new yzf450, it has some work to do to get it up to speed.... Formost, the biggest and most important upgrade besides adding a pipe, is the suspension.... The stock suspension gave the word "bad" a whole new meaning.....

In my hare scramble circuit, I've seen cracked frames and bent axles just from bumping trees at a decent clip. I think those are 2 of the main weaknesses, otherwise they seem like a very good bike!!
