Default heat shields on full exhaust for Raptor

Does anyone burn their leg or does it get hot without the heat shield on the full exhaust?

When I put on my GYT-R full exhaust system the radiator hose would melt from the heat coming from the head pipe so I just put Heat tape around the hose and it has been fine ever since then!!

My heat shield worked its way loose over the Memorial day weekend and I had to take it off for the remainder of the ride. I could tell a difference. It wasn't so hot that I felt that I would burn my leg, but I did have a full Thor boot on. Without the boot, it could have been down right hot.

I have a full yoshi. The stock shields fit on it. When I'm just crusing the dunes I ware shorts, with tennis shoes and never have had any problems. I would not have a pipe exposed, they melt your boots.

I have run my Yosh pipe without a heat shield ever since I got it. Never a problem. If you have decent boots that have leather on the inside part of the calf/ankle then they will not melt. Plus the leather absorbs the heat so your leg doen't feel it.

I take that back. I had 1 problem. I rode around the yard in shoes and nylon warm-up pants. Not a good idea. The thin nylon pants melted all over the pipe. But if you wear boots and jeans or riding pants, no worries!
