I have a 2001 blaster with about $1000 of extras on it and im thinking that i should sell it and get KFX 400. I'm 15 and about 5'6-7 and weigh 140. i have ridden bigger bikes than a blaster, like 400ex, raptor.. and i wanted to know if you guys think this is good bike for me. I usually dont ride trails. about once a month i go up to rausch creek in pa and ride track. on a skill level from 1-10 i would say im a 6.5. do u think this is a good bike for me?

If you have the money I would definetely get the KFX. You will grow into it more and you already know how to tride because of the blaster. It is a great bike and you would love it. Good luck

Or you can wait and see if the rumer is true about the Yamaha 450.
And I also was hearing some rumers about a 600EX for next Summer.

 

Yes you may want to wait to see what the other companies will introduce, but if you want a good bike now, go with the KFX. I can guarantee that it is a better jumper than your blaster with much better suspension. Its not great suspension, but good enough. Put a pipe on it and watch it really wake up. Good luck

 

do the kfx's have the same problem with the frame as teh Z's. I would think so considering they come off the same production line. You might want to watch out for that and get a 04 model...whenever it comes out.

For those who are unaware of the frame problem, with the 03's where the shocks are mounted there is a weak sport that tends to crack way too easily. There is actually an article in dirtwheels on how to reinforce it. Well, good luck on your choice.

why not just get a 250ex, and pipe it and filter it. Youll be able to run with the stock Z

yea i saw that artical but they were also selling frame supports, i might just buy those to prevent it from cracking. but thanx for telling me

 

i dont think im goi to wait on the yamaha that coming out because i really want somthin soon that has more power than a blaster and i know the KFX does. also i ride wit 2 raptors and a modded warrior and i want to keep up wit them more.
