Does anyone know what jet comes with the FMF pipe for a '97 Blaster? The guy I bought mine from couldn't remember, and I haven't had a chance to open the carb. I'm going to go a little leaner and want to pick up a few sizes from the FMF that he installed.

Steve10,
Since no one else has replied I'll give it a shot, but I'm a little confused by your question. I don't think that any jets just come with any pipe unless the buyer orders them with the pipe. Therefore, your best bet would to simply pull the main jet & see what size it is. What is your reason fo going to a leaner mix..have you done a plug read or are you having any signs of too rich a mixture when riding? I would guess that maybe the person who installed the pipe initially failed to rejet from stock and possibly you're running lean rather than fat, and need to run a FATTER main jet. Hope this gives you something to go on. Feel free to e-mail me if you need further.

hot_shoe,
Thanks for the reply. The guy said he installed the jet that came with the pipe, but just couldn't remember what the # was. Yes, according to my plug read it's a little rich. It runs great, but I plan to disable the oil injector this weekend and pre-mix with Yamalube synthetic @ 42:1, which will richen it even more. It's hot and humid here in Texas, and I've learned with my dirtbikes that spending a lot of time getting the jetting perfect will make a huge difference in power.

The one thing I can't decide, is whether to remove the airbox lid after I'm finished and start the jetting procedure all over.

You may want to check with Jas Lucky to see whether Moto Force makes lids for Blasters. I called the tech at Moto Force & they said their vented lid provided 90% airflow of an open box while still retaining reasonable protection against water or mud. The lid is vented with 3 (I think) long slots along one side of it, allowing water to enter away from the filter. On the one for my Warrior it is in clear plastic..easy to see the filter. and yes, you'll need to fatten up or retain your current main if you do anything here, so you may as well do it now.
