I was wondering how does everyone set their rear shocks to run on motocross. Do you turn the compression and rebound to the softest setting? Someone suggested this to me. Any help would be appreciated.

Well I would suggest buying new shocks. The stock one won't last and you won't be able to take as big of landings. I just got TCS front, and Works ultracroos Rearand they take everything

that doesn't really answer his question

as far as shock settings, it would probably be best to go to the track prior to your race, and run a few if not many practice laps...and set your shock differently each lap, and see what works best and doesn't bottom alot...you want to bottom once and awhile, that lets you know you are using the full travel of the shock.
