in exploring the possiblity of a street legal four wheeler, i have found that standard car wheels will fit the front of my rancher. if you put on radial tires you should be able to run forever with little tire wear. if you were to choose a good snow or mud tread it might go pretty well in the mud. my only problem is this; the rear wheel are offset inward. does anyone have an idea as to how to compensate for the differance in axle width from the front to the rear? one suggeation was wheel spacers but some have said that it is hard on your axles. any suggeations would be appreciated. thanks

Not to sure about your rear axle width, but I have used Hyundai wheels on my 200SX with Sears studded snow tires on them, the studs griped fallen trees well With the tires aired up they were worthless until I aired them down to 3psi... and the lug pattern was not a exact fit. It handles very poorly on pavement as i flipped when I first hit the pavement. Seen the article on 4 wheel action, looks fun

I was at the dealer recently ordering Bear Claws for my Four-Trax. The distributor's catalog had pages and pages of ilustrated tires and rims. These included automotive tires and rims for ATVs. You may want investigate rims that are offered for the purpose. Your dealer should have similar distributors catalogs.
