I was not a wear that the rear shockon this was not rebuildable.. and the fact they are about $500 - 900 to replace....... this bothers me..... anyone have any suggestions?

 

Are you sure it's not rebuildable? I would call TCS suspension and ask them. I know they rebuilt my dad's ex rear shock for about $400 and set it to his weight, etc. If not then $500 to $900 may be grounds to call someone like Works to see if they sell a replacemant.

 

I was told the same time when I tried to have mine done. let me know if you come up with anything

 

They are totally rebuildable call PEP or TCS. I had my 86 250R rebuilt last year by PEP under $300.00. Who told you they are not rebuildable?

 

the local honda shop told me that. what you do, mail your shock? how much was shipping, they weigh alot.

 

yes mail your shock cost around $25 ups or fedex back to your door for around $275 maybe less depending if you need a new spring.
you will have a shock set up for your weight and riding style better than new. PEP is in cali K&K atv does TCS so does CT who is in Cali

 

I got a shock off of a trx 250r 1989 for 140. The shock on the 85 and 86 were different. 86 - 89 were the same shock. and way I look at it I have a good shock now for 250.
